Trafford Centre Victoria's Secret Store

Victoria's secret is undoubtedly one of the most iconic lingerie brands of today, the Victoria's secret angels are idolised by many women for their perfect bodies and natural beauty. The idea that a cute matching bra and pants set could transform me into a supermodel is far from reality. However, there is something about wearing beautiful lingerie that gives you that extra boost of confidence and femininity, even if no one is going to see it!

The new Victoria's Secret store is a pink paradise of lace trims, silky panties and super-soft lounge wear. Inside has a boudoir feel with black pull-out drawers housing bras of all sizes and designs. The Victoria's secret Pink collection of lounge-wear and lingerie is separate, with candy pink stripes giving this area a younger college feel.

The store also features the bath and beauty collections and I have my eye on a few of the flirty floral body sprays and plumping lip glosses. I will definitely be making Victoria's secret a regular stop on my shopping trips from now on!

Recent purchases

Fall is almost here and I thought I would share two of my most recent purchases with you. Of course fall means back to black so I felt the need update my collection of ankle boots with these gorgeous 'Axis black cut out boots' from Miss Selfridge. They are super comfy and look amazing with skinny jeans or leggings. I can also wear these for 6th form with black tailored trousers. I love the cut out buckle detail that gives them a cute, western feel.

The second item I am beyond excited about, it is this amazing oriental print shirt from Zara. This is no longer available in store or on-line unfortunately, but I got mine off eBay for £29.99. I like the crossover detail and how is is quite low cut so you could pair it with a cute bralet or bandeau top. The print is beautiful and the silky fabric kind of reminds me of pyjamas. The shirt feels very oriental and is reminiscent of the earlier bond girls. I am so in love with this piece and cannot wait to wear it!

Fall 2013

Summer is drawing to a close here in England and while I will miss cycling on warm afternoons and relaxing in the park, I am looking forward to the amber and russet leaves floating down from the trees as the evenings get darker. Snuggling under a blanket and watching Netflix on rainy afternoons is a comfort that just isn't the same at any other time of year. Not to mention Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas, autumn winter is undoubtedly my favourite time of year.

A new season calls for a new wardrobe and I am feeling a style overhaul brewing. I am looking into building my collection of basics to layer with fine knits and adding more boots to my ever-expanding shoe collection. My colour palette will be a mixture of black, neutrals and deep jewel tones. I have been liking more western styles lately like these gorgeous buckled ankle boots from Miss Selfridge which would look amazing paired with coated skinny jeans. I plan on layering lots of silver and gunmetal jewellery and who knows I may even be brave enough to pull off a hat? We shall see...

Winter is the season for vampy, dramatic make-up so I am in my element as I really get to experiment with different looks. I am excited to wear rich opulent tones on the eyes with deep, berry-stained lips. An inky black lash line is another of my favourite looks to wear in fall as it really makes the eye colour pop.

It is truly a season of change in all respects as I am also starting 6th form this september which is both exciting and scary at the same time, however I look forward to the challenge and a change of scene. Bring on Fall!

Naked Basics Palette: Taupe matte smokey eye

This look was inspired by Cara Delevingne in the Burberry AW 2012 campaigns. The look is a very blown-out taupe smokey eye that intensifies at the lashline. I really like this look as it is dramatic without being too dark, I used the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette to create this look and I highly recommend it. All the shadows are pigmented and buttery soft so they blend like a dream. Crave is my favourite matte black eyeshadow as it is so pigmented and intense compared to many other matte black shadows such as MAC Carbon which swatch grey rather than true black.

Products used:
Lashline - Crave
Inner lid, socket and lower lashline - Naked 2
Outer lid - Faint
Mascara - Revlon grow luscious mascara in blackened brown

Classic pin-up makeup

A crisp matte red lip and a sultry yet simple eye creates an old Hollywood, timeless glamour. This is a change from my go to smokey eye but the red lip is a classic and a look I plan to wear more in fall and winter.

For the matte smokey eye I used the Urban Decay naked basics palette. I swept W.O.S over the lid and blended a mixture of Naked 2 and Faint into the socket. I then deepened the outer corner with Crave, the matte black shade and applied Ardell demi wispies to give glamorous fluttery lashes.
I applied a little Revlon grow luscious mascara to the bottom lashes but I wanted the eye to remain relatively top heavy to give more of a sultry feel.
To create a bold matte red lip I first outlined and shaped my lips with Sleeks eau la liner in the shade Moulin rouge 307. I then filled in the lip with a mixture of MAC charmed I'm sure from the Marilyn Monroe collection and Russian red lipstick.

Shoe love

I thought I'd share with you my four fiercest pairs of shoes which also happen to be my favourites.

First are a pair of Jeffrey Campbell spiked lita dupes that I picked up from a little shop in the Arnedale for £30 which is a fraction of the £80 to £150 price tag for the originals!

The next pair of shoes is my topshop Aphrodite cut out lace up boots, these are so comfy and the silver hardware detailing is really eye catching. I also love that the heel is cut out so you can show off your socks!

The third pair of shoes are these wedge buckle up sandals from office that I bought off eBay for £10 I love these as they look insane and you can adjust them to fit perfectly

Finally these are my H&M wedges I have had for about a year now and they were my first pair of high shoes that my mother questioned my ability to walk in but they are actually really comfy and I find I can walk and dance in them for hours without any pain. However the same cant be said for those Lita dupes! Ah well they say pain is beauty.
