OOTD: Holier - Perforated tee shirt, Topshop collar necklace, Leather pants

So Christmas was a five days ago now, it seems to have been over in a flash and I'm desperate to drag out the rest of this holiday as much as possible!

This tee shirt is despised by my Mum who thinks it's hideous, which it sort of is but I have a tendency to gravitate towards ugly or abnormal pieces. Anyway, I found it in Matalan and decided to buy it because I rarely wear any colour. The floral design contrasts the sporty feel of the perforated material which is cool and I like how it has a dipped hem at the back which will be perfect with shorts in Summer, I know it's way off yet!

I am wearing it with a simple collar necklace from Topshop and my trusted coated jeans, also from Topshop... as are my boots, hey at least there was one non-Topshop item in this outfit!

My eyeshadow is Mac Cranberry blended out with Peaches blush also by Mac, I've been really into warm toned shadows lately and so I was super happy to get some new pans for Christmas to fill my palette. I will be uploading some makeup/beauty related posts soon so stay tuned.

Hope you all had an amazing Christmas xx

Do I really need more black boots?

The honest answer to that question is no, however I could pass on the chance to get these amazing chunky ankle boots in the Topshop sale at only £15! They were reduced from £75 so it just goes to show that the January sales get better with time.
The boots have a chunky Gothic feel to them and feature cut-out detail on the sides. They remind me of Acne boots (a girl can dream) and I will definitely be wearing these throughout Spring as while I do love my Topshop Aphrodite boots, they are a pain to get on whereas these boots come with a convenient zip.
Grab those last bargains people!

Recent purchases

Fall is almost here and I thought I would share two of my most recent purchases with you. Of course fall means back to black so I felt the need update my collection of ankle boots with these gorgeous 'Axis black cut out boots' from Miss Selfridge. They are super comfy and look amazing with skinny jeans or leggings. I can also wear these for 6th form with black tailored trousers. I love the cut out buckle detail that gives them a cute, western feel.

The second item I am beyond excited about, it is this amazing oriental print shirt from Zara. This is no longer available in store or on-line unfortunately, but I got mine off eBay for £29.99. I like the crossover detail and how is is quite low cut so you could pair it with a cute bralet or bandeau top. The print is beautiful and the silky fabric kind of reminds me of pyjamas. The shirt feels very oriental and is reminiscent of the earlier bond girls. I am so in love with this piece and cannot wait to wear it!

Fall 2013

Summer is drawing to a close here in England and while I will miss cycling on warm afternoons and relaxing in the park, I am looking forward to the amber and russet leaves floating down from the trees as the evenings get darker. Snuggling under a blanket and watching Netflix on rainy afternoons is a comfort that just isn't the same at any other time of year. Not to mention Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas, autumn winter is undoubtedly my favourite time of year.

A new season calls for a new wardrobe and I am feeling a style overhaul brewing. I am looking into building my collection of basics to layer with fine knits and adding more boots to my ever-expanding shoe collection. My colour palette will be a mixture of black, neutrals and deep jewel tones. I have been liking more western styles lately like these gorgeous buckled ankle boots from Miss Selfridge which would look amazing paired with coated skinny jeans. I plan on layering lots of silver and gunmetal jewellery and who knows I may even be brave enough to pull off a hat? We shall see...

Winter is the season for vampy, dramatic make-up so I am in my element as I really get to experiment with different looks. I am excited to wear rich opulent tones on the eyes with deep, berry-stained lips. An inky black lash line is another of my favourite looks to wear in fall as it really makes the eye colour pop.

It is truly a season of change in all respects as I am also starting 6th form this september which is both exciting and scary at the same time, however I look forward to the challenge and a change of scene. Bring on Fall!
